- IRONBOUND - PIGS AND PEARLS TOUR

Night one: the amp gives up first

Twenty minutes into the opening set, the backline let out a smell like burnt toast and the stage went quiet — except for the drums, which kept going, because drummers always keep going. The crowd filled the gap by singing the riff. That set the tone for the whole run: whatever broke, the room fixed it louder.

Night three: the open-air finale

The last show was outdoors, under a sky that threatened rain for six hours and delivered exactly none. Forty thousand people, one borrowed amp (thanks again, Riga), and a version of “Thundercats March” that ran eleven minutes because nobody on stage wanted to be the one to end it.

“The pit moved like weather. We just tried to keep up.” — Maynard, vocals

What survived

Three blown amps, one cracked cymbal, two pairs of boots and every single chorus. The live record Ironbound caught the whole finale — mixed with no overdubs, crowd and all. If you were there, you are on it. If you weren't, the November tour is your second chance: dates and tickets here.
