Eleven days, live to tape
No click track, no pitch fixes, no second-guessing: Nosferatus set up in a dim rehearsal room and played Friendly Fire until the takes felt dangerous. Ten songs about pressure, escape and stubborn hope, with the tape audibly straining to hold them.
“Atmospheric,” the centerpiece, was captured at 2 a.m. on the last night — one vocal take, lights off, the whole band holding its breath. It is the song the home-page player was built for.
