Eight songs from a snowed-in cabin
Lisnak hauled a tape machine, two borrowed amps and a wood stove into a forestry cabin and stayed until the record was done. Heart of the Forest is the result: slow, moss-covered doom with clean-sung choruses that arrive like daylight through pine.
The band tracked everything live around a single room mic, then overdubbed only vocals and the church organ on the closing title track. What you hear is the room — the creak, the cold, the quiet between riffs.

“Doom with daylight in it — the heaviest quiet record of the year.”
